Shettima Leads 8 Govs, Yilwatda, Kingibe, Other Leaders To Wedding Fatiha Of 3 of Gov Zulum’s Children
Vice President Kashim Shettima, on Saturday led political leaders and other dignitaries to the wedding fatiha of three children and a cousin of Borno State Governor, Prof Babagana Umara Zulum in Maiduguri, the state capital.
The wedding fatiha turned out to be a high-profile social event, as the Vice President arrived at the marriage ceremony in the company of National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, governors, members of the National Assembly, serving ministers, former governors and their deputies.
Serving as the Waliyi for Aisha Babagana Zulum, Shettima gave the daughter of Governor Zulum in marriage to the son of the deputy governor of Yobe State, Mohammed Idi Barde.
Also tying the knot were Umar Babagana Zulum, who is married to Fatima Azzaki Jidda; Mamman Babagana Zulum, who married Yagana Mustapha Busuguma; and Abba Abubakar Umara, who wedded Aisha Ibrahim Musa.
The Vice President prayed Almighty Allah to guide the newly wedded couples, just as he counseled them on mutual respect and patience, as they build their new homes.
Other dignitaries who attended the event are former Vice President Babagana Kingibe; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, and Deputy Senate President, Jibril Barau.
Also in attendance were the governors of Kaduna, Gombe, Zamfara, Kebbi, Kano, Nasarawa, Sokoto, and Katsina States.
Members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in attendance include the Ministers of Agriculture, Budget and Economic Planning, Housing and Urban Development, Health and Social Welfare, Education, and the Minister of State for Regional Development.
Others include former governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, among other political figures.
