Qatar emir and Trump discuss Iran truce and maritime security

Qatar’s emir  Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and US President Donald Trump have discussed the Iran ceasefire and rising concerns over maritime security and global supply chains.

According to the Amiri Diwan, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received a call from Trump focused on the latest developments around the truce with Iran.

The emir raised the wider impact of tensions on shipping routes and trade flows, warning of risks to supply chains.

He also stressed the need to de-escalate and prioritise diplomatic solutions, while calling for continued coordination with international partners.

The two leaders discussed support for Pakistan’s mediation efforts as part of ongoing attempts to stabilise the situation.
