In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Judy Greer reflected on her role in “The Wedding Planner” and what it was like working with superstars Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey.
The 50-year-old, who played the assistant of Lopez’s character, said she “couldn’t believe” she was acting in the 2001 rom-com, before going on, “I didn’t really, like, understand what a big deal it would be. And Jennifer Lopez was Jennifer Lopez back then. She wasn’t JLo.” Greer also opened up about a touching moment that made McConaughey a “hero” in her eyes when he extended a generous gesture to help her out.

Greer said of the “The thing I remember about that movie was how lovely Matthew McConaughey was. I loved seeing him in hair and makeup every morning, cause he had like, pajamas on and an Yerba Mate.” She laughed, “I haven’t worked with him since, but I have a feeling not much has changed.”
Greer then recalled that a table read was held at the Roosevelt Hotel before shooting began, and that was where she ran into a sticky situation that the “Dallas Buyers Club” star helped her out of it. She explained, “I valeted my car. I didn’t now any better. I didn’t have enough money to get my car out of the valet cause I was so broke.”
She said she was on the pay phone in the hotel lobby calling her friend, “Gilmore Girls” actor Sean Gunn, when McConaughey overheard the conversation and gave her $20. She said she was “so mortified” but also though of McConaughey as a hero.
Judy Greer Would Like to See ‘The Wedding Planner’ Make a Return
When asked if she’d embrace the possibility of a reboot or sequel of the beloved film, Greer said, “Yes, because I love it, and I think it’d be fun to see what people do with it. But also, like, it’s great.” She then questioned, “Why do we have to keep rebooting everything?”
However, she finished by joking that she’d support the concept “as long as I get to be in it.”

For Jennifer Garner’s birthday on April 17, Greer shared a snap of the two actresses together and wrote, “Please never change because you are so wonderful and special and I love you so much.” After saying “Happy Birthday!!” she told the star, “you’re such a babe.”
Greer acted alongside Garner in 2004’s “13 Going on 30.” She played Lucy Wyman, the mean girl frenemy of Garner’s character.
