Edo CP smiles as aide to Gov. Okpebholo vows to turn in ADC members in the state and calls Peter Obi a “stupid man”

The Commissioner of Police in Edo State has come under scrutiny after appearing alongside an aide to Governor of Edo state, Monday Okpebholo who made controversial remarks targeting opposition figures.

In a video circulating online, the governor’s aide and praise singer is heard vowing to hand over any member of the African Democratic Congress found in the state to the police commissioner. He also referred to former presidential candidate, Peter Obi as a “stupid man.”

The footage shows the police commissioner smiling during the exchange, prompting criticism from observers who questioned the appropriateness of the reaction given the nature of the comments.

The aide, who has previously been accused of making threats concerning Peter Obi’s security in the state, walked away after making the remarks in the commissioner’s presence.
