Security forces attached to the 63 Brigade, Sector 1 of the Joint Task Force South-South, Operation Delta Safe, have intercepted a cache of weapons during a raid in Ogidigben community, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
The operation, which followed intelligence reports of gunfire within the area, led to the arrest of two suspects believed to be linked to criminal activities.
Details of the raid were disclosed in a statement issued in Asaba by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Captain Iliyasu Bawa-Rijau. The statement said troops acted promptly on credible information and moved into the community to contain the situation.

The Army confirmed that those arrested are currently in custody and undergoing interrogation as investigations continue.
Reacting to the development, the Commander of the 63 Brigade, Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, commended the troops for their swift response and urged them to maintain pressure on criminal networks operating in the region.
He reiterated the military’s resolve to restrict the activities of armed groups, warning that individuals involved in illegal possession of weapons or other crimes would be tracked and apprehended.
Shonibare also cautioned residents against shielding offenders, stressing that security operations would be intensified across the area.
