NAF Airstrikes Destroy Terrorist Camp in Mandara Mountains

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its counter-terrorism operations with a targeted airstrike that destroyed terrorist structures in the Mandara Mountains, reinforcing ongoing efforts to dismantle insurgent networks in the North-East.

The operation, carried out on April 27, 2026, by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, struck a known terrorist enclave at Guduf following credible intelligence and confirmatory Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions.

According to a statement issued on April 28 by the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the air interdiction mission identified and engaged multiple terrorist structures and logistics hubs linked to insurgent activities in the area.

NAF air assets executed the strike with precision, neutralising hostile elements and destroying critical infrastructure used to support terrorist operations. The statement emphasised that the operation adhered strictly to established rules of engagement, with deliberate measures taken to minimise risks to civilians and the environment.

The successful strike is assessed to have significantly degraded the operational capacity of terrorist elements in the Mandara Mountains, a region long regarded as a strategic stronghold for insurgents.

The Air Force reiterated its commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist groups, denying them freedom of movement, and supporting broader efforts to restore security and stability across affected areas.
