Another flight attendant has been detained in Dubai after sharing a photo privately on WhatsApp during Iranian attacks on the UAE.
The 32-year-old Emirates cabin crew member had just returned to the UAE and was unaware of any warnings against posting footage relating to the war on Iran, campaign group Detained in Dubai said.
Woken by an explosion, he sent the image to colleagues to ask if it was safe to go to work. He did not post it publicly.
Emirati authorities say he was identified through “electronic monitoring operations” and is now facing a potential State Security case.
This follows the recent release of a British Emirates crew member, as arrests linked to private messages continue.
