As an award-winning actress, Kate Hudson has no shortage of projects available to her.
The 47-year-old was nominated for several awards for “Song Sung Blue,” including “Best Actress” at the 98th Academy Awards. Although the honor went to Jessie Buckley instead, Kate Hudson has nothing but positive things to say about her and the other nominees.
Now that the chaos of awards season has wound down, the actress is opening up about the experience and how much fun she had.
Kate Hudson Raves Over Her Peers During the 98th Academy Awards
For most in the entertainment industry, simply receiving an Oscar nomination is a high honor. Not everyone can win, and Kate Hudson is perfectly fine with that. She felt proud to receive a nomination for “Best Actress” for her work in “Song Sung Blue.”
In the film, Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson played a married couple, Mike and Claire Sardina, who perform as a Neil Diamond cover band. For her own performance, Kate went on to win a few awards, including “Iconic Award, Actress” at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
While she didn’t win the Oscar for “Best Actress,” fans agreed she looked absolutely stunning at the Academy Awards.
On top of that, the 47-year-old declared she had an absolute blast.
Kate Hudson told PEOPLE she loved getting to know the other actresses nominated for her category. The other nominees were Rose Byrne for “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You,” Renate Reinsve for “Sentimental Value,” Emma Stone for “Bugonia,” and the winner, Jessie Buckley, for her role in “Hamnet.”
“In reflection, I’m so lucky that I got to be able to have that experience. And I loved everybody on the ride with them. All of the people that were on that journey were so awesome, so fun, so together, and I just loved everything,” Kate gushed about her experience.
The Actress Took Some Time Off After the Oscars
Kate Hudson certainly plans to continue on with other projects. But after a whirlwind awards season, she was perfectly content to hang out with her family for a while.
“I took spring break with my kids and I just shut everything down,” the mother of three told PEOPLE this week.
Kate Hudson has three children: son Ryder Robinson, 22, son Bingham Bellamy, 14, and daughter Rani Fujikawa, 7. All the children have different fathers, but she seems to have found strong co-parenting relationships with each of them.
Her middle child, Bingham, recently accompanied his mother to the premiere of “Running Point” season 2. Fans couldn’t believe how grown-up the teen looked on the red carpet as he proudly escorted Kate.
Although it’s certainly a much different role than her part in “Song Sung Blue,” fans love Kate Hudson’s “Running Point” and can’t wait to see more of the hilariously brilliant sports comedy.
“Running Point” season 2 is now available to stream on Netflix.
