The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, has rallied northern elders to give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu maximum support ahead the 2027 presidential election.
The former Speaker of Kano state House of Assembly, on Tuesday, hosted prominent northern elders, on a strategic meeting in Kano.
A statement by his media aide, Seyi Olorunsola, indicated that during the high-level engagement, the Minister received categorical assurances of total support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reelection in 2027.
The Northern elders, representing a broad coalition of regional interests, declared that the North has reached a consensus to support and vote for President Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on the meeting’s outcome, Ata expressed profound gratitude for the region’s continued trust in the “Renewed Hope” agenda of President Tinubu.
He noted that, “this endorsement is a testament to the President’s impactful governance, particularly in the areas of urban renewal, affordable housing, and economic reforms that are increasingly felt across Northern Nigeria.
“The assurance of total support from our elders is a clear signal that the North recognizes the strides of this administration,” the Minister stated. “This unity of purpose ensures that we can continue our mission to deliver decent, affordable housing and sustainable development to every corner of the country.”
The meeting underscored the strengthening political alliance within the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the party consolidates its base ahead of the next general election.
