Ship damaged after warning shots in key waterway
A vessel operated by CMA CGM was subjected to “warning shots” in the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, the company said, adding that no crew members were injured.
The International Maritime Organisation, cited by AFP, identified the ship as the Everglades and said it sustained damage, without detailing the extent.
The incident comes after Iran reversed its earlier decision to reopen the strait, citing the continued blockade of its ports by the United States.
Several vessels have reported coming under gunfire from Iranian forces in recent hours.
