
The Osun State Police Command has arraigned the Imam of Ummu Haani Adigun Memorial Central Mosque, Abdulgafar Sakariyah, 51 and 4 others over the demise of a worshipper, Ahmed Najeem.
The Imam, alongside the 4 different suspects – Kosamotu Hakeem, 50; Folorunso Mukaila, 57; Sakariyau Hafeez, 45; and Abdulwasiu Olatunji, 29, appeared earlier than Justice of the Peace A. Daramola.
Within the movement exparte filed, the applicant prayed the courtroom to permit the respondents to be remanded in a correctional centre pending authorized recommendation from the Workplace of the Director of Public Prosecution.
An affidavit deposed to in help of the movement by Inspector Bashir Sulaiman
connected to the Murder part, state CID Osogbo, mentioned, “That on the thirtieth of January 2026, at about 06:15am, at Ummu Haani
Adigun Memorial Central Mosque Osogbo, Osun state, One late Ahmed Najeem ‘m’ enters the above-named central mosque and forcefully collected the microphone from the Imam throughout the morning Prayer (Subuhi), in an try and hit the Imam with the microphone standing, he was crushed to demise by the respondents.
“That based on the Administration of Felony Justice Legal guidelines of Osun State 2018 and Order of this Honourable courtroom is required to remand the respondent in correctional centre pending the result of authorized recommendation from the workplace of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
“That besides the applying is granted there isn’t any different option to remand the respondent in Correctional Centre pending the result Authorized recommendation from the Workplace of the Director of Public Prosecutions
(DPP).”
The courtroom granted the order, and the defendants had been remanded in Ilesa Correctional Centre till February 24, 2026.
