The leader of the Green Party Zack Polanski issued a statement on Thursday condemning the use of antisemitism by other UK politicians as “political football” following the stabbing of two Jewish men in London on Wednesday.
“I am the only Jewish leader of a major political party and I suffer antisemitic abuse every single day,” Polanski said in a statement posted to X, calling the weaponisation of antisemitism by politicians “utterly appalling”.
He also warned that the government should not “use the pain of the Jewish community to restrict our right to peaceful protest” in light of comments made by UK terror reviewer Jonathan Hall calling for a “moratorium” pro-Palestine protests following the attack.
