The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe state has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term of office and adopted consensus for its primary election.
This is contained in a communique issued at the end of the APC stakeholders meeting in Damaturu.
The communique which was read by the former Senate President Ahmad lbrahim Lawan, said the support extended to the state by the party and the APC-led federal government under President Tinubu makes it mandatory to support the party and President Tinubu in the 2027 election.
The party also adopted consensus for the election of party candidates for its governorship, national and state assembly elections.
The stakeholders agreed to support aspirants that emerge as candidates and to avoid issues capable of causing disaffection in the party.
Earlier, Gov. Buni urged the stakeholders to endorse President Tinubu for the state to remain with the APC led federal government.
“It is gratifying that our alignment with the national party and government since 2015 has attracted some advantages to the state which facilitated our reconstruction and recovery programme for the good of the state and its people.
“l therefore call on the good people of the state to once again support the All Progressives Congress and endorse President Tinubu for another term of office” Buni said.
