Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has stirred political debate after claiming that Peter Obi cannot become Nigeria’s president at this time, citing what he described as deeper, “non-physical” challenges.

Edochie made the remarks in a post on X , where he dismissed Obi’s recent political moves, including his alignment with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), as ineffective.

“Any political party Peter Obi joins will scatter. Whatever he’s doing with ADC is dead on arrival. A total waste of time,” he wrote.

He suggested that the issues affecting Obi’s presidential ambition go beyond visible political factors, questioning whether the former Anambra governor is aware of the underlying challenges.

“It’s not a physical problem. It’s deeper than that. I’m surprised he doesn’t know this already. Or maybe he knows but chooses to ignore it,” he added.

“The truth remains the truth. Peter Obi cannot be President of Nigeria now.”

Obi, who was the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general election, has since been linked with the ADC amid ongoing political realignments ahead of 2027.

The actor, a known supporter of President Bola Tinubu, had in 2023 openly backed his candidacy and has continued to defend the administration.
