Iran’s parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf condemned remarks by Israeli defence minister Israel Katz about potential action against Iran’s leadership, warning that Iranian forces would defend the country “trench by trench”.
He said the comments reflected frustration with Iran’s internal cohesion.
Ghalibaf said Iran’s armed forces remain committed to protecting the country’s leadership and interests, adding that unity within Iran would counter external threats.
