The 21-year-old musician entered his plea during an arraignment at a Los Angeles court on Monday, where prosecutors outlined a series of grave allegations tied to the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
According to authorities, the teenage girl had been missing since 2024 before her remains were discovered in September 2025 inside a vehicle registered to the singer.
Prosecutors allege that Burke had an unlawful relationship with the minor and later killed her, claiming the act was intended to prevent exposure that could have damaged his rising music career.
He is also facing additional charges linked to sexual offences and the handling of human remains, with investigators citing extensive evidence gathered during a months-long probe.
Despite the weight of the allegations, Burke’s legal team has strongly denied any wrongdoing, insisting he is not responsible for the teenager’s death.
The court has ordered that he be held without bail, with a preliminary hearing expected later this week as prosecutors consider whether to pursue the death penalty.
The case has drawn widespread attention across the United States and beyond, given Burke’s rapid rise in the music industry following viral success on social media and major festival performances.
