Sandra Bullock is stepping back into the spotlight—and according to a source close to her, she’s doing so from a much stronger place.

After taking time away following the heartbreaking loss of her longtime partner Bryan Randall, Bullock, 61, has been focused on healing and putting her family first.

Bullock Focused on Her Family

Randall died in August 2023 after a private three-year battle with ALS, a period that deeply impacted the actress and her loved ones.

“After everything she went through with Bryan, she needed time to care for herself,” an insider told PEOPLE.

That time, the source explained, was intentionally spent away from the public eye. “She spent a lot of time healing, being with her kids and being at home,” they added. “She needed to ensure that she and her kids were in the best possible place for her to go back to work.”

Bullock is mom to her two children, Louis and Laila, who have remained her top priority throughout the past few years.

Now, she’s officially making her return—and it’s a big one.

Bullock Is Back

The actress appeared at CinemaCon on Tuesday, April 14 to promote the highly anticipated sequel “Practical Magic 2,”

The original 1998 film, which also starred Nicole Kidman, has long held a special place with fans, making the sequel one of the most buzzed-about upcoming releases.

Her return hasn’t just been limited to the big screen. Bullock also surprised fans by launching an official Instagram account, breaking years of social media silence in the process.

Her first post quickly sparked excitement, featuring a playful nod to her iconic role.

“Midnight somewhere…” she captioned a video from the set of “Practical Magic 2,” referencing the beloved “midnight margaritas” scene from the original film.

She followed it up with another behind-the-scenes clip, giving fans a glimpse of her reunion with Kidman at CinemaCon.

The candid moment highlighted the natural chemistry between the two, reminding audiences why their on-screen partnership became so iconic in the first place.

For Bullock, this return feels less like a comeback and more like a carefully considered next chapter.

After stepping away to focus on grief, family, and healing, she’s re-emerging on her own terms.

Fans can’t get enough of her return.

“You know it’s gonna be a good day when Sandra bullock joins Instagram.,” one user said wrote.

Others just couldn’t wait to see what’s next for the star.
