Russian lawmaker says US ‘unprepared’ for Iran war

Senior Russian lawmaker Alexey Pushkov said the United States was “clearly unprepared” for a war with Iran, arguing that Washington relied on a “misguided belief” that military force could quickly achieve its objectives.

Speaking to TASS, Pushkov said US thinking may have been shaped by past experiences, including in Venezuela, where he claimed Washington believed pressure could force political outcomes.

Pushkov added that Iran had prepared extensively for conflict, moving much of its missile infrastructure underground and building what he described as a large arsenal of missiles and drones.

“They have been working on all of this for a long time, preparing both economically and, so to speak, existentially,” he said.
