Rick Springfield shared a health scare to Instagram after an unexpected trip to the ER due to an issue with his sight.

The former “General Hospital” star and musician shared details of his hospital visit, including the treatment he received in the emergency room. He also opened up about his stay, leaving fans concerned as they reacted to the update.


Rick Springfield Revealed Details of His Hospital Stay

Rick Springfield, 76, visited the emergency room of a local hospital after performing a concert, due to an eye infection. He shared details of the event on Instagram.

“I went to the ER after the show last night because I had a slight eye infection and I couldn’t see clearly. So they handed me this tiny piece of paper and a squishy magic marker like you use to write on a white board and asked me to write my full name, address, phone number and SS#,” he began.

Springfield continued, “It was pretty late at night and I don’t think there was any nurse, trainee or med student over 12 years old working there.”

Fans shared their concern about the entertainer’s ER trip in the post’s comments section. The update sparked a wave of reactions from followers.

One fan wrote, “Oh my goodness!!! Glad you got it taken care of but Oh yes they are so young aren’t they?? It’s funny but then again???? Luv ya .. Stay well.”

Rick Springfield is Headed to a City Near You

Currently, Rick Springfield is on tour. He will perform a select number of shows alongside former Van Halen vocalist and songwriter, Sammy Hagar.

The entertainer is also performing solo and acoustic shows throughout the summer reports his official website. These performances run from April through August, with a one-month break before a final October tour stop.

Springfield shared via Instagram that he will host a “Rick Springfield and Friends” getaway at the Hard Rock Hotel in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in May. Appearing alongside the entertainer are soap stars Doug Davidson and Cameron Mathison and ’80s music group Men Without Hats.

Rick Springfield’s most current studio album of all-new material is “Automatic,” released in 2023. He has yet to release any further updates regarding his hospital visit.
