President Trump says suspect at White House correspondents' dinner shooting had multiple weapons

“We had some great work done by law enforcement, but in light of this evening’s events, I ask that all Americans recommit with their hearts and resolving our differences, peacefully,” he said.

“We have to resolve our differences.”

The President praised the “really incredible” response from law enforcement, though he noted the events were traumatic for the First Lady.

He added that law enforcement agencies think the shooter was a “lone wolf” actor and that he does not believe the incident is linked to the war on Iran.

“We’re going to reschedule. We’re gonna do it again,” Trump said.

“We’re not gonna let anybody take over our society. We’re not gonna cancel things out.”
