The Delta State Police Command has cracked down on criminal activities and arrested notorious drug barons in the state.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe , Sunday said in a major breakthrough, operatives of the Oghorokpe Division on April 15, 2026, at about 10:23 p.m., raided a drug hideout in Ugholo community, leading to the arrest of a suspected notorious drug dealer, Justina Onokpasa, 33.
SP Edafe said during the operation, police recovered two large bags of substances suspected to be “Canadian Loud,” 300 small cans of similar substances, 30 bottles of CSC codeine, 10 sachets of tramadol, two sachets of “Super Royal” (Redboy), 12 sachets of Swinol, 12 pieces of Molly drugs, and 400 empty distribution cans. The suspect is currently in custody, while investigations are ongoing.”
In a related development, operatives of the Anti-Cult Unit (SACU) on April 16, 2026, at about 11:45 a.m., carried out a raid on identified drug spots in Abraka, arresting three suspects.
“Large quantities of substances suspected to be Indian hemp and other illicit drugs were recovered during the operation. The suspects are also in custody as investigations continue.
Commending the efforts of the operatives, the Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining the fight against crime.
He urged members of the public to continue supporting the police with credible and timely information.
The command reiterated its resolve to rid Delta state of criminal elements and ensure the safety and security of all residents.
