Residents of Olayinka community in Ifelodun Local Government woke up to gunshots around 1:40am as heavily armed men invaded the palace. Witnesses said the attackers fired into the air, causing panic before whisking the royal father and others away to an unknown location.
Sources described the scene as terrifying, with no resistance as people fled for safety. The monarch, who was recently installed by the state government, is said to have been taken without any trace.
