The incident, which happened in the Kosofe area, reportedly occurred during an attempt to enforce a disputed land order that turned violent.

According to the DPP, led by Babajide Martins, there was no solid evidence linking the suspects to the deaths. Missing autopsy and ballistic reports were cited as major gaps in the case.

But the Nigeria Police Force has strongly disagreed, insisting there is enough proof to prosecute those involved. Police authorities say investigations clearly show the suspects should face trial.

Human rights lawyer Femi Falana has also stepped in, vowing to fight for justice. He revealed plans to submit fresh evidence and drag the case back to court, including a lawsuit demanding compensation for the victims’ families.

With both sides clashing, many Nigerians are now asking one question — will justice truly be served or quietly buried?
