Nicole Kidman Went to the Hospital After Filming First Scenes as a Wrestler — She ‘Was So Pale, Shaken’

In “Margot’s Got Money Troubles,” viewers will be able to see Nicole Kidman as a former pro wrestler named Lace. While the character surely shows off some smooth moves in the ring, the actress ended up heading to the hospital right after filming her first scenes for the show.

Nick Offerman Opened Up About What Happened On Set

There’s no doubt that this is one A-list actress who is dedicated to her craft. As People notes, “Nothing gets in the way of Nicole Kidman when she’s supposed to be on set.”

People explains that Kidman “is an executive producer and stars in Margo’s Got Money Troubles, and makes her first appearance as former pro wrestler Lace in the April 22 episode, which was also her first day of filming, her costar Nick Offerman,” pointed out while opening up about what happened on set.

For one scene that “reunites [Kidman’s character] with Jinx (Offerman), an old friend from their wrestling days, who’s at a fan convention with his daughter, Margo (Elle Fanning),” Offerman noted that they had set up a “huge set piece” that involved “hundreds of extras.”

However, not everything was going as planned.

“We’re there in the morning, we’re getting warmed up — some of us are going to be performing some actual wrestling, and so we have our doubles, we have people we’re working with,” Offerman explained. “And the word comes in that Nicole has the flu, and we might not get Nicole today. And we’re like, ‘Oh no, that’s such a bummer, because we only have the one day that we’ve built this whole circus for.’ It’s about 8:00 in the morning that we get this news.”

But then, there was a sudden change.

Offerman told People, “Come to be about 11:00 a.m., the word comes in: Nicole’s coming.”

While that was likely seen as a good thing, Offerman recalled that Kidman showed up and was “so sick.” He continued, “She was so pale, shaken. She just had the flu really so bad.”

Granted, that didn’t stop Kidman from doing her job. Offerman says, “She showed up and made sure that we got every shot of her, total superhero style, did everything we needed to so that we did not lose one scrap of what we needed for her character.”

When she finished her workday, Offerman revealed that Kidman “was literally taken to the hospital for an IV.”

“And I just said to her, I already admired you so much, but this is how you get to be Nicole Kidman, is you show up so that your show doesn’t lose a minute of your value,” he added. “It was so generous. It was astonishing.”

Nicole Was Initially ‘So Scared About Getting Injured’

Although it was the flu that ended up sending Kidman to the hospital after spending a day on the set as a former wrestler, she initially told People at the show’s New York City premiere on April 8, that she took on training before she stepped onto the set as Lace because she was “so scared about getting injured.”

However, she decided to go with the flow, saying, “When I got in the ring, I just went, ‘Okay, let’s go.’ Cause whenever I do something, I go, ‘Okay, I’ve gotta be really careful,’ and then I just forget about any sort of protection in my body, and I go crazy.”

At the same time, she brought up Offerman, who she says “had [her] covered” in the ring.
