The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) under the leadership of Ibrahim Gusau has thrown its support behind incumbent FIFA President Gianni Infantino ahead of the next FIFA presidential election.
The endorsement was confirmed during a meeting held by CAF President Patrice Motsepe on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in Vancouver, Canada, on the eve of the 76th FIFA Congress.
The meeting brought together representatives of the 54 CAF Member Associations, where discussions focused on the future of football administration and the forthcoming FIFA elections.
At the end of the meeting, the CAF Member Associations unanimously agreed to support Infantino for another term as FIFA President for the 2027–2031 cycle. Infantino has served as FIFA President since 2016 and is seeking to extend his leadership following what CAF members described as significant progress in global football development.
