Hon. Peter Azubuike has emerged as the new Chairman of the Labour Party (LP) in Abia State following the party’s state congress, pledging to lead with selflessness, integrity, and discipline.
Speaking with journalists shortly after his emergence, Azubuike said his administration would be guided by clear values aimed at strengthening the party and promoting unity among members.
“My leadership is based on three cardinal points selflessness, integrity, and discipline,” he stated.
The new chairman assured party faithful of an inclusive leadership style that would carry all members along, regardless of their position within the party structure.

He emphasized that his administration would focus on building the party from the grassroots, ensuring active participation from polling units to the ward, local government, and state levels.
“Members of the Labour Party in Abia State have reasons to rejoice because this administration will carry everybody along, starting from polling units to the ward level, down to the local government and up to the state level,” Azubuike said.
Azubuike’s emergence is expected to signal a new phase for the Labour Party in Abia State, as stakeholders look forward to strengthened internal cohesion and improved grassroots mobilization.
The state congress that produced him marks a significant step in repositioning the party ahead of future political engagements in the state.
