The Member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa, has secured another batch of all-in-one solar street lights for communities across the constituency, in what residents have described as a sustained demonstration of people-oriented leadership.
The latest intervention comes on the heels of a recently concluded large-scale empowerment programme by the lawmaker, which saw the distribution of vehicles, tricycles, motorcycles, sewing machines, tractors, and other tools aimed at boosting economic independence and productivity among constituents.
Building on that momentum, Hon. Osonwa has now facilitated the installation of modern solar-powered street lighting systems in several communities, including Arochukwu, Ututu, Ihechiowa, Abiriba, Ndi Uduma Awoke, and Amankwu.
The project is expected to significantly improve security, enhance night-time visibility, and stimulate social and economic activities within the benefiting areas.

Reacting to the development, a community leader, Chief John Ukpai Kalu of Amankwu village, commended the initiative, noting that the installation of solar street lights would help reduce the challenges associated with darkness while promoting safer streets and extended business hours.
Stakeholders across the constituency have continued to praise the lawmaker’s efforts, describing his approach as one that balances both empowerment and infrastructure development, while responding directly to the needs of the people.
Many residents believe that the continuous rollout of such projects reflects a commitment to improving living conditions and fostering sustainable development across Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.
