A woman in Abia State has publicly appealed for help, calling on Governor Alex Otti to intervene in a disturbing case involving her 9-year-old granddaughter.
According to her account, the incident allegedly took place in Ohokobe Mbaocha, Ndume Ibeku, Umuahia, where she accused a 50-year-old man of assaulting the minor.
She further alleged that the suspect has been issuing threats against both her and the child, creating fear for their safety.
“He is threatening to k!l| me and the child,” she claimed, adding that the suspect also boasted of being well connected, stating that he knows the Attorney General and the governor.
The woman noted that the case has already been reported to relevant authorities, including the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), the police, and the Ministry of Women Affairs.
However, she expressed concern that no visible action has been taken so far.
“NAPTIP, the police, and the Ministry of Women Affairs are aware of the case, but nothing has been done.”
The allegations have sparked concern online, with calls for a thorough investigation and swift action by the appropriate authorities.
