A Nigerian man has sparked widespread reactions online after making an emotional appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the economic hardship facing his family.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the man appeared alongside his wife as he revealed that he earns a monthly salary of ₦70,000 while catering for six children.
According to him, the income is no longer sufficient to meet the basic needs of his household, forcing the family into difficult living conditions.
“President Tinubu, this is me and my wife. My salary is ₦70,000 and she gave birth to six children. What can ₦70,000 do for someone that has six children? That is why I am pleading with you, please help us.”
He further disclosed the extent of their struggle, stating that they sometimes resort to drinking garri to survive.
“We both drank garri today, and we don’t know what our children will eat. Please, I beg you in the name of God, help us fix this country.”
The emotional plea has drawn sympathy from many Nigerians, with social media users highlighting the rising cost of living and the challenges faced by low-income families.
