The wedding bells are ringing for former Big Brother Naija housemate Yerins Abraham, who has proposed to his partner, Sarah Oba, during a trip to Rwanda.
The reality TV star who starred in the Season 6 edition, Shine Ya Eye, shared the news on Friday via a joint Instagram post with his fiancée.
In his post, he reminisced on the feeling of proposing to her and described it as the “best feeling” and said this is the beginning of forever.
The announcement has over 38,000 likes and has received congratulatory messages from fellow BBN stars like Whitemoney, Phyna, Saga Deolu, Diana, Nelson, Boma, Saskay, Trikytee, Ozo, Kola, and the show’s host Ebuka.
“A single YES turned this day into the beginning of forever. Thousands of miles away from home… for a moment I still cannot explain, but I know how much it means. I put the ring on your finger, stood up, and held you. At that moment everything went quiet. It was windy; the camera shutter sound was loud, but I heard nothing.
“In that silence, I felt a kind of joy and peace I did not know I could feel. Like I had made one of the best decisions of my life. I did not know a feeling like that existed, but it did, and it was the best.
“I am all in. For everything that comes with loving you, for everything that comes with forever. This moment is just the opening of our story, the beginning of forever between Yerins Abraham and Sarah Oba,” the BBN star wrote.
The proposal, which took place on a grassy hill against the scenic backdrop of Rwanda, has since drawn attention on social media.

Meanwhile, details of the proposal were featured on BellaNaija Weddings, where Yerins explained that the engagement coincided with a birthday trip planned by his partner.
The medical doctor recounted that there were moments he feared the surprise might be uncovered due to the preparations, but he maintained the idea that the trip was solely for his birthday celebration.
“Sarah and I met at Nigerian FinTech Week. I was speaking at one of the events on fintech, blockchain, and entrepreneurship, and she came up to me afterwards to ask for some advice based on what I shared. What stood out immediately was how thoughtful, curious, and articulate she was.
The Bayelsa-born reality star said he met his fiancee at a tech event and proposed three months after asking her out.
“There was a depth to her, a genuine desire to learn and grow, that felt different. We stayed in touch, built a friendship over a few months, and on January 1st, 2026, I asked her to be my girlfriend. From very early on, it felt clear to me that she was someone I wanted to build a life with.
“The proposal was planned around my birthday. We were already in Rwanda, and she had planned a birthday getaway for me to another city, which made it even more interesting because I was also secretly planning something of my own.
“I suggested that we do a birthday photoshoot during the trip, which became the perfect cover. Behind the scenes, I coordinated with the photographer and planned everything quietly. There were moments I thought she might suspect something, especially with all the preparations, but I stayed consistent with the idea that it was just about my birthday.
“The location itself made everything even more special; the hills, the calm atmosphere, the whole setting came together naturally. It felt like everything aligned without forcing anything,” he said.
Abraham, who participated in the “Shine Ya Eye” edition, was a creative artist when he entered the competition, which aired from July to October 2021. The edition, however, saw Whitemoney win the ultimate prize. His works cut across arts, tech and lifestyle. He founded creovine and liraintelligence.
