As the Ekiti state gubernatorial election slated for June 20 approaches, the director general, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) 2026 Campaign Organisation, Senator Cyril Fasuyi,  said  the campaign will be officially flagged off on April 27, 2026 with a minimum of 500,000 votes target.

Senator Fasuyi representing the Ekiti North Senatorial District at the National Assembly in Abuja stated this Wednesday at  a press conference held at the Governor’s Office,  Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier fixed June 20, 2026 for the conduct of the governorship election in Ekiti state.

He said: “Our objective is for APC to win for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji in all the 177 wards of Ekiti state. We are targeting a minimum of 500,000 votes. With discipline and hard work, it is achievable.

“The campaign we are flagging off will be issue-based. We are not here to trade insults. We are here to present records, results, and a roadmap. Our candidate is a known friend of all.

“He, Governor Oyebanji, is seeking re-election on the strength of his first-term performance and in response to the wishes of the people.

“Our campaign team is formidable. It draws membership from every senatorial district, every local government and every ward. We are ready for a clean, peaceful and vigorous physical engagement with Ekiti people.

“Our instruction to party members is clear: Every APC member is an equal canvasser. No one is a spectator. This campaign is intra local government, intra ward, and intra unit. It must run without rancour. We will market our record and our plan, not abuse opponents” Senator Fasuyi stated.

The BAO Campaign Director General assured that the APC and the BAO 2026 Campaign would not sponsor an iota of falsehood, exaggerating figures adding: “What we have done is enough. What we plan to do is clear. We are very, very focused.”
