The Court of Appeal Abuja Division, has ordered a former deputy governor of Edo State, Godwins Adebayo, to face the contempt proceedings filed against him for not obeying a valid order of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
Another former deputy governor of the state, Philip Shaibu and the state assembly after obtaining a Federal High Court judgement to have Omobayo removed, had initiated the contempt proceedings for Omobayo’s refusal to vacate office.
The three man panel of the appellate court, led by Justice Okon Abang ruled that Omobayo was wrong to have remained in office, after the trial court removed him.
The court dismissed Omobayo’s appeal, and directed him to prepare for his contempt suit.
