Youth members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) are staging coordinated protests today, April 20, 2026, across Lagos, Ogun, and Jigawa states.
Organised under the hashtag #AmupitanMustGo and tagged “Operation Occupy INEC,” the demonstrations target the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) offices.
Balarabe Rufai, the party’s national youth leader, confirmed this in a post on X on Monday, attaching flyers for the Lagos and Ogun protests, both tagged ‘Operation Occupy INEC’.

According to Rufai, the Lagos protest will begin at 8am from Yaba College of Technology, while the Ogun protest is scheduled for 11am at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited office in Abeokuta.
The planned protests come weeks after prominent opposition figures staged a similar “Occupy INEC” protest in Abuja on April 8.
Those at the Abuja protest included former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Rotimi Amaechi, Rauf Aregbesola and Dino Melaye.
As of the time of filing this report, it was not clear whether the protests had commenced at the INEC office in Lagos.
