The National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Thursday announced a revision to its timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections.
The presidential primary of the party earlier fixed for May15 will now be held on Saturday May 23, while dates of other elective positions are also altered.
The party also made a landmark declaration that expression of interest and nomination forms for all elective positions are open to all party faithful.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after its NWC meeting, Thursday at the party’s national secretariat, Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Duro Meseko, confirmed that the adjustments were made to ensure full compliance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1999, as amended), the Electoral Act 2026, and the revised guidelines issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“You will recall we published a timetable some few days back, but this is the newest timetable.
“From today, you will see this in the news, and it has been properly communicated to INEC in line with the extant rules of the game,” the party spokesperson stated.
Accompanied by the National Leaders of Peoples With Disabilities (PWDs), Aare Tolu Bankole, the APC deputy spokesman said with the revised schedule, the sale of nomination forms will commence Saturday, April 25, and conclude on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
The deadline for the submission of all completed forms is set for Monday, May 4.
The screening process for all aspirants—spanning the House of Assembly to the Presidency—is scheduled to take place between May 6 and May 9, 2026.
Meseko further said the screening for Presidential aspirants will be held on Saturday, May 9, with the official publication of results for all categories on May 11.
The primary elections are slated to roll out as follows: House of Representatives: Friday, May 15, Senate: Monday, May 18, House of Assembly: Wednesday, May 20, Governorship: Thursday, May 21, Presidential: Saturday, May 23.
