US strike kills three in Eastern Pacific 'narco-trafficking' operation

The US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) has said that a vessel linked to narco-trafficking was targeted in a strike in the Eastern Pacific, resulting in three fatalities.

The operation was carried out on 26 April under the direction of SOUTHCOM Commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, the command announced on X.

Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a “lethal kinetic strike” on a vessel operated by designated terrorist organisations, the statement said.

According to the command, intelligence confirmed the vessel was moving along known narco-trafficking routes and was “engaged in narco-trafficking operations.”
