In an operation along the Lake Chad waterways near the Kaniram Island axis in Borno State early on Wednesday, troops of Operation Hadin Kai neutralized more than thirty rebels and destroyed multiple boats.
The accomplishment was made during an aggressive operation that took place from Tuesday night to Wednesday, according to a statement from Lt Col Sani Uba, the Media Information Officer for Northeast Joint Taskforce Operation Hadin Kai.
According to Uba, the air component of Operation Hadin Kai created a continuous overhead presence and verified that more than thirty terrorist boats and related terrorist elements were concentrated in the area, coordinating movement and resupply on Wednesdays.
According to the statement, “Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) delivered devastating precision airstrikes that dismantled ISWAP terrorist logistics networks along the Lake Chad waterways around the Kaniram Island axis in Northern Borno State during sustained offensive operations conducted on the night of 21/22 April 2026.”
“OPHK air assets established a persistent overhead presence and confirmed the concentration of over thirty terrorist boats and associated terrorist elements coordinating movement and resupply activities, based on reliable intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance inputs.” Prior to combat, excellent targeting fidelity was ensured through meticulous target validation and identification.
Uba emphasized that OPHK carried out well-coordinated precise strikes that destroyed many boats and crippled the terrorists’ logistical base after thorough confirmation in accordance with the Rules of Engagement.
He said, Their mobility and capacity to continue operations were quickly deteriorated. Over thirty terrorists were neutralized as a result of quick follow-up strikes on escaping and rejoining forces within surrounding vegetation made possible by real-time ISR. A breakdown in their cohesiveness and command structure was evident in the surviving elements’ chaotic escape.
According to Uba, more precision-guided strikes were carried out after target fidelity acquisition with Partners in a similar battle at Sowolwolo in the Sambisa Forest axis.
He stated, “The strike neutralized more terrorists in the area and destroyed three terrorist gun trucks.”
He claimed that the Battle Damage Assessment, which was backed by post-strike intelligence, verified substantial enemy casualties and provided proof of mass burial operations, particularly by ISWAP troops in the Mallam Fatori axis.
“At the moment, ground forces are taking advantage of these strikes to control nearby areas and stop any reconstruction by escaping elements. These missions demonstrate OPHK’s persistent offensive pressure and successful air-land integration in destroying terrorist networks, weakening their capabilities, and preventing them from moving freely throughout the Joint missions Area.
He continued, “The Military High Command encourages troops to maintain aggressive operations to dominate the battlespace and commends them for the impressive battle performance.”
Operation Hadin Kai will continue to put unrelenting pressure on all terrorist elements until they are thoroughly annihilated, Uba promised.FOLLOW US FOR MORE…
