Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P has reignited public discussion over his long-standing rift with his brothers.
In a recent Facebook post, the artist expressed frustration over what he described as years of betrayal and false narratives against him.
He stressed that the matter remains unresolved and is currently in court.
He wrote in full: “We were not “blood” when they were stealing from me. We were not “blood” when they were creating false narratives about me.
Now that I’ve uncovered the betrayal that has been going on for over 20yrs plus, suddenly we’re blood?
No… it doesn’t work like that. We are still in court! Forgiveness doesn’t mean Accessibility. Again! Una go dey alright.”
Background of the Dispute
The conflict within the Okoye family, involving Peter, his twin brother Paul Okoye, and elder brother Jude Okoye, dates back several years.
P-Square, once one of Africa’s biggest music groups, split in 2017 following internal disagreements over management, finances, and creative control. Jude, who managed the group at the time, was often at the centre of the dispute.
Peter had previously accused his brothers of financial mismanagement and lack of transparency. The disagreement led to a public fallout, legal battles, and the group’s eventual breakup.
Although the brothers briefly reunited in 2021, tensions resurfaced, and Peter has continued to pursue legal action over alleged financial issues spanning more than two decades.
