Senator Sunday Marshall Katung has concluded a week-long tour of the eight local government areas in Kaduna South, using the outreach to mobilise grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani.
He said he also used the weeklong tour to woo support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The senator, who represents Kaduna South, said the tour was aimed at consolidating party structures, engaging with citizens and strengthening support for the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda across Southern Kaduna.
A statement issued by his special adviser on Media and Communications, Midat Joseph, said the outreach covered all eight LGAs in the senatorial district and was designed to take the message of continuity directly to the grassroots.
The statement said Senator Katung used the tour to highlight key federal government projects facilitated under the Tinubu administration, including the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia and the Federal Medical Centre, Kafanchan.
The senator described the projects as long-standing demands of the people that were fulfilled under the APC-led government.
“Politics is about results, and results are what we are seeing,” Katung was quoted as saying during a stakeholders’ meeting in Zangon Kataf.
“For decades, Southern Kaduna asked for these institutions. President Tinubu listened and acted. That is the politics of performance, not empty promises,” he added.
Katung also commended Governor Uba Sani for what he described as an inclusive style of governance and efforts to restore trust across Kaduna state.
