Laja Adeoye, a Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirant for 2027 general elections, has intensified consultations with party stakeholders across the state and South West.
In a statement on Saturday in Lagos, Adeoye said he met with Lagos PDP executives, South West leaders, the state women’s committee, and the youth wing at the party secretariat in Ikeja on Friday.
According to the aspirant, the engagement is part of ongoing consensus-building and momentum-gathering efforts ahead of the 2027 elections.
The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that the aspirant had earlier consulted the party’s apex leader, Chief Olabode George, local government chairmen, and other stakeholders across the state.
During the meeting, Adeoye presented his vision tagged “Better Lagos 2027 Agenda,” codenamed Àtúntò Èkó 1.0.
He outlined key pillars aimed at repositioning Lagos as a prosperous, inclusive, and globally competitive mega-city.
Adeoye said he would soon unveil the full blueprint at a grand ceremony involving party leaders, traditional rulers, business leaders, and residents.
During the first meeting with the Lagos State PDP State Executive Committee, Dr Amos Fawole, leader of the executive, commended Adeoye for his consistent efforts at selling himself and the party to residents.
Fawole described his recent political activities as projecting the PDP as a credible alternative to the ruling party in the state.
He praised his loyalty, noting that some aspirants had defected or remained inactive amid party challenges.
Expressing confidence that the party’s internal issues would soon be resolved, Fawole pledged full support for Adeoye in his bid for the party’s ticket for 2027.
In a separate meeting, the PDP Youth Wing, led by State Youth Leader, Saheed Olatunji Kewulere (Osama), endorsed Adeoye.
Kewulere described Adeoye’s engagement with youths across the 20 local government areas as inclusive and commendable.
He said: “We are fully committed to giving Prince Laja Adeoye our total support, loyalty, and dedication.
“We will work tirelessly to ensure the PDP records a resounding victory in 2027.
“A young, vibrant, competent, and experienced technocrat with deep grassroots connections like Prince Laja Adeoye is exactly what Lagos needs.”
Kewulere said the youth aligned with Adeoye’s policy pillars, describing them as practical and actionable.
Highlighting the agenda, he said they included affordable housing, infrastructure modernisation, power reforms, enhanced security, improved healthcare, and education development.
Other areas include economic diversification, job creation, civil service reforms, environmental sustainability, and local government autonomy.
Kewulere expressed confidence that Adeoye would deliver good governance if elected.
He described Adeoye as a unifying figure with strong grassroots appeal and deep understanding of Lagos challenges.
The party youth leader called on party leaders at all levels to rally behind Adeoye as a consensus candidate.
Kewulere also passed a vote of confidence in Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, commending him for playing a fatherly, stabilising role in South West PDP.

“His effort at ensuring that the party emerge victorious in the forthcoming general election in 2027 is being noted. History will be kind to him,” he said.
The youth leader urged Lagos residents across political, ethnic, and business divides to support Adeoye’s candidacy.
He said his agenda would promote inclusive growth, empower youths and women, and restore hope through accountable governance.
Responding during the meeting with the PDP youth leaders, Adeoye thanked party leaders, youths, and women for their support and encouragement.
He promised equitable development across all parts of Lagos State.
“The youth demography, which I also belong to, numbers in millions in Lagos. I will be a good ambassador in leadership and governance that all of you will be proud of.
“The party will be happy to have me as the first elected Governor of Lagos State from the PDP,” he said.
