An Australian man has been found dead in his hotel room in Bali.

The alarm was raised by a friend who tried to wake the 71-year-old at the Sanur Resort Watujimbar, in east Denpasar, on Tuesday morning.

Resort employees and security tried to call the man’s room and knock on his door but didn’t receive a response.

The door was then dismantled to gain entry to the room where staff found the man unresponsive, lying on his bed.

Police were called and later said the man appeared to have died some time before he was found.

The body was taken to a local hospital where an examination showed no signs of “violence on the victim’s body,” according to local police.

“It is estimated that the victim died naturally due to illness,” police said.

It comes just days after another Australian, 74, drowned in a hotel pool on the Indonesian Island.

According to a police report the man and his 71-year-old wife arrived back at the hotel about 5.15pm after swimming at Kuta Beach.

He immediately jumped into the pool for a swim however at some point he did not resurface.

Police say the man’s wife initially thought he was joking but began shouting for help when she realised he was in trouble.

Hotel employees and other guests who were at a restaurant on the edge of the pool helped lift the victim from the water and began CPR.

Multiple attempts were made by paramedics to resuscitate the man but he could not be saved.

Those deaths come after 30-year-old Jamie Cusack was found dead on a Bali hotel balcony on April 8.

Cusack was found in distress on a second-floor balcony at a hotel in the popular beachside area of Seminyak about 4.15am.

Police said he was still breathing and able to speak when he was discovered by his 22-year-old girlfriend, before being rushed to Siloam Hospital in an unconscious state.

He was later pronounced dead about 8.10am local time.
