American Cola has stepped into championing women’s basketball in Nigeria with the debut of the women’s edition of its Courtside 2026 tournament, held at the Ilupeju Basketball Court in Lagos.

After five weeks of intense competition and standout performances, Team MC Spencer emerged as champions, closing out a tournament that brought together 8 communities from across Lagos.

The women’s edition was structured to encourage, promote, and uplift basketball culture among women who are stepping onto the court, building careers, and gaining recognition both locally and globally, proving that the sport belongs to everyone. American Cola has created the perfect platform to spotlight this movement at the grassroots level.

Following the success of the male edition launched in 2025, where Oworo Community emerged as champions after a 7-week tournament featuring 16 Lagos communities, American Cola expanded the initiative to include women, reinforcing its commitment to inclusivity and community development. The brand also confirms that the 2026 male edition is set to take place later in the year, as American Cola Courtside continues to grow into a major annual competition.
