The UN Human Rights Council has condemned Iran’s attacks on its Gulf neighbours and called for full and swift “reparations” for victims, according to a resolution adopted on Wednesday.

The 47-member body unanimously backed the motion, which Gulf Cooperation Council states and Jordan put forward.

The resolution also criticised Iran’s move to close the Strait of Hormuz and urged it to “immediately cease all unprovoked attacks”.
