As “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette” wraps up Season 1, the series’ creator is already teasing Season 2, with a major hint about another iconic couple.
The Ryan Murphy-led series has generated a lot of buzz, delving deeply into the love affair between Kennedy and Bessette. But with one episode left, the show’s producers are already considering a legendary love story for the series’ second season.
Who Will ‘Love Story’ Season 2 Feature Next?
In an interview for Vanity Fair, “Love Story” creator Connor Hines was asked about his ideas for Season 2. Season 1 will air its highly anticipated finale documenting the love affair of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette on Thursday, March 26. Hines is already thinking ahead for the next installment.
Hines teased that he may delve into the most iconic love affair in Hollywood history. The tease is already sparking plenty of buzz about what’s coming next.
“Maybe Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. They have the right intensity,” Hines admitted.
While Hines didn’t elaborate on his idea further, the idea of the series documenting one of the most legendary romances in Hollywood history is already turning heads. However, before production can begin on a new series, the creator and Ryan Murphy have to wrap up the series’ first installment.
There have been no teasers dropped for the final episode of the Kennedy and Bessette love story. However, if the first episode is any indication, the series will touch on the plane crash that ended the couple’s lives in July 1999.
Episode 8, “Exit Strategy,” centered entirely on Kennedy and Bessette. It took place in their TriBeCa apartment as they faced the emotional aftermath of Princess Diana’s car crash in August 1997.
Why Should ‘Love Story’ Feature Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton for Season 2?
Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were one of the most iconic and celebrated couples in Hollywood history. Their passionate, often turbulent romance captured the world’s attention.
The couple met on the set of the epic motion picture, “Cleopatra” in 1962. Taylor played the title role, and Burton played Mark Antony.
At the time, she was married to her fourth husband, entertainer Eddie Fisher, who left his wife, Debbie Reynolds, for his romance with Taylor. Burton was married to Sybil Burton, and they had two daughters. Taylor was a mother of three: Michael Jr. and Christopher Wilding, with her second husband, Michael Wilding, and a daughter, Liza Todd, with her third husband, Mike Todd.
However, Burton and Taylor’s pull to one another was irresistible. “I fell in love at once,” Burton said, as reported by Town & Country. “She was like a mirage of beauty of the ages, irresistible like the pull of gravity.”
Their passionate love story even caught the attention of the Vatican, which published a letter condemning their affair, as they were both married to others, reported PEOPLE. Despite the negative attention on their relationship, Burton and Taylor divorced their spouses and married in March 1964. Ten years later, the volatile couple divorced, only to remarry for a second time in October 1975 before divorcing for good less than one year later.
