The Federal Authorities has begun the evacuation of prepared Nigerians in Iran amid escalating tensions within the Center East.
Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, chairman and chief government officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Fee (NiDCOM), disclosed the event in a submit on X on Tuesday.
Dabiri-Erewa stated officers of the Nigerian embassy in Tehran are coordinating the evacuation of Nigerians who want to depart the nation, including that the evacuees are being escorted throughout the Armenian border to make sure their protected passage.
The evacuation follows a rising disaster that started on February 28 after coordinated army strikes on Iran by america and Israel.
The assaults reportedly triggered retaliatory missile and drone strikes throughout elements of the area, elevating fears of a wider battle.
Dabiri-Erewa stated: “Prepared Nigerians being escorted throughout the Armenian border by officers of the Nigerian embassy in Iran for protected passage.
“No Nigerian in Iran has been affected by the battle as officers stay on the border to obtain all who need to depart.”
The event comes as tensions throughout elements of the Center East proceed to boost considerations over the protection of overseas nationals residing in affected areas.
