The Securities and Alternate Fee (SEC) has introduced a rise within the minimal capital necessities for all classes of capital market operators (CMOs).

In response to a round issued by the Fee on January 16, 2026, the transfer replaces the long-standing 2015 capital regime and units a compliance deadline of June 30, 2027.

Beneath the revised framework, the capital base for tier 2 “issuing homes with underwriting” has been raised to N7 billion from N200 million, whereas trustees are actually required to take care of N2 billion, up from N300 million.
