Kwankwaso Accuses Kano Govt of Allegedly Forcing Officers to Defect to APC

The 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Social gathering (NNPP), Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has accused the Kano State Authorities of allegedly coercing state officers into defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a submit shared on his social media platforms, Kwankwaso claimed that he had obtained disturbing experiences suggesting that the state authorities was forcing officers and elected native authorities chairmen to declare allegiance to both Gandujiyya or Kwankwasiyya.

“I’ve obtained a number of information, some good ones, however some so horrible. I obtained experiences that Kano State Authorities is compelling state officers and elected native authorities chairmen to signal for both Gandujiyya or Kwankwasiyya”.

He additional warned that such actions wouldn’t be taken frivolously by his supporters, describing the alleged conduct as deeply disappointing.

“Each one in all our supporters wouldn’t take this frivolously. It’s so disheartening that the federal government would go down so low to be doing this.”

Reacting to the allegation, the Kano State Commissioner for Data, Ibrahim Waiya, dismissed the claims, insisting that there was no reality to them.

In line with him, “what precisely occurred is that our celebration is asking everyone, not solely authorities officers, who’s willingly and able to be part of APC to take action, however not compelling as reported”.

He maintained that no particular person was compelled to behave towards their political selections, stressing that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf upholds freedom of affiliation and political affiliation.
