“Serve As Ad-Hoc Staff During The 2027 General Election” — INEC Opens Recruitment Portal, Sets November 18 Deadline
The Independent National Electoral Commission has opened its online portal for Nigerians interested in serving as ad hoc staff during the 2027 general election, with applications scheduled to close at midnight on Wednesday, November 18, 2026.
The commission, in a public notice posted on its X handle on Friday, October 2, said the INEC Portal for Recruitment of Election Staff, known as INECPRES, was activated at 8am on Friday, September 18, 2026.
The recruitment forms part of the commission’s preparations for the forthcoming general election.
“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will activate the INECPRES for interested Applicants who wish to serve as ad-hoc staff during the 2027 General Election as scheduled below,” the notice stated.
Giving the application timetable, the commission said: “The activation of INECPRES on Friday, 18 September 2026 by 8:00am and closes on Wednesday, 18th Nov, 2026 by 12 midnight.”
INEC explained that interested applicants could complete their applications through either the web platform or its Android mobile application.
“The Online application will be available on the INEC website via the link inecnigeria.org (for both mobile App. and the Web Application),” it stated.
Applicants using laptop or desktop computers can access the platform through pres.inecnigeria.org.
“The web version (using a laptop and desktop) shall be accessible via the portal URL: pres.inecnigeria.org,” the commission added.
For Android users, the notice provided two addresses through which the mobile application could be downloaded.
“The Android mobile App. shall be accessible via the link inecnigeria.org/pres.apk or inecpres-app.com/pres-app.apk,” it stated.
The commission urged interested applicants to complete their applications through the designated INECPRES channels within the stipulated period.
Its recruitment guidelines identify positions including Supervisory Presiding Officers, Presiding Officers, Assistant Presiding Officers and Registration Area Centre Managers. Applicants are expected to review the requirements for their preferred roles before submitting their applications.
