Youths of the All Progressives Congress in the South West say they have begun registration for the inaugural South-West Youth Diaspora Dialogue and Development Forum.
APC South-West Youth Leader, Adesuyi Daramola, said that the town hall meeting, themed “Connecting Nigerians abroad for a stronger Nigeria: From questions to practical actions,” is aimed at creating a structured platform for Nigerians living abroad to discuss practical ways of contributing their knowledge, professional expertise and skills to development initiatives in Nigeria.
Daramola said in a statement made available in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, on Sunday, that the event, which will hold virtually on October 24, is “expected to provide an opportunity for Nigerians in the diaspora to share ideas, exchange professional knowledge and explore structured areas of collaboration that could support development efforts in Nigeria.”
According to the statement, the initiative is being convened by Daramola, while the Coordinator, Diaspora Engagement, Office of the APC South-West Youth Leader, Jesugbamigbe Fadipe, is coordinating the programme.
Daramola stated that the dialogue “will focus on practical pathways for diaspora engagement, including mentoring, knowledge exchange, defined professional assignments, verification of opportunities and responsible participation.
“The dialogue is open to Nigerians irrespective of political or professional affiliation, with emphasis on constructive engagement and practical contributions to Nigeria’s development.
“The initiative is designed to move the conversation beyond questions and concerns towards practical actions, with a focus on connecting skills, knowledge and professional experience to Nigeria’s development needs.”
He stated that registration was currently open to Nigerians in the diaspora and interested participants through the official registration link.
He stated that participants are encouraged to submit their questions ahead of the Virtual Town Hall through the official registration form, enabling the programme to “reflect the issues, opportunities and practical questions that matter” to them.
