Thousands of supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Zamfara state Wednesday staged a massive solidarity march in Gusau to thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Senator Abdul’aziz Yari as Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
The rally, tagged “2 Million March,” drew participants from across the 14 local government areas of the state.
Clad in APC colours, the marchers carried party flags, banners and placards with inscriptions praising President Tinubu and Senator Yari.
They marched through major streets of Gusau, chanting solidarity songs and slogans in support of the Tinubu administration.
The procession was led by the state APC chairman, Hon. Kabiru Moyi Birnin Magaji and Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu, member of the House of Representatives representing Maru/Bungudu Federal Constituency.
Other party stakeholders, women and youth groups also joined the march before it terminated at the Government House, Gusau.
At Government House, the party leadership presented a letter of appreciation to Governor Dauda Lawal for onward transmission to President Tinubu.
Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Moyi described Senator Yari’s appointment as a clear recognition of Zamfara’s contribution to the APC and to the Northwest region.
“We are here today to say thank you to Mr. President for remembering Zamfara and for giving us one of our own to coordinate the campaign. This march shows the love and support of Zamfara APC for President Tinubu,” Moyi said.
In his address, Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu said the appointment would further strengthen the APC in Zamfara and across the Northwest ahead of the 2027 general elections.
