The University of Ibadan (UI) has honoured a prominent supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Mr Kehinde Olaosebikan, for his contributions to the development of sports and youth initiatives at the institution.
Olaosebikan was presented with the “Iconic Friend of the University of Ibadan Sports Academy” award on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the headquarters of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-Kehinde Olaosebikan (PBAT-KO) Grassroots Movement in Olomi, Oluyole Local Government Area of Ibadan.
The award was presented by a delegation from the university on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Professor K.O. Adebowale. The delegation was led by the Chairman of the UI Sports Academy, Professor Olufemi Adegbola Adegbesan.
Presenting the award, Adegbesan said Olaosebikan was being recognised for his selfless support and significant contribution to the establishment and development of the Sports Academy.
He said the university appreciated Olaosebikan’s commitment to sports and youth development, adding that his support had contributed to efforts to transform the vision of the Academy into reality. Other members of the delegation included Professor Nureni Adedayo Adewole and the Secretary of the UI Sports Academy, Dr Ajijola Oluchi Mullie.
Responding, Olaosebikan, Chief Executive Officer of Midas Communications Limited, a global public relations firm, expressed appreciation to the Vice Chancellor and the university delegation for the recognition. He explained that his decision to support the Academy was driven by its focus on sports and youth development, which he said was consistent with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.
Olaosebikan pledged to sustain his support for the project, expressing optimism that the University of Ibadan Sports Academy would ultimately become one of the leading sports academies in Africa. The presentation was witnessed by members of the PBAT-KO Grassroots Movement and other stakeholders from across Oyo State.
